Parkinson’s is a progressive disorder of the nervous system. Symptoms start slowly, but it can exhibit tremors, motor problems, speech disorders, and changes in personality and perception. It can cause hallucinations that are hard to treat and control.
Objectives:
- Understand what is currently known about Parkinson’s and techniques used by LTC professionals.
- Identify the five stages of progression and how they affect our residents.
- Identify actions to take to mitigate the actions caused by this disorder.
