How to Manage Residents with NO Financial Support

There are residents in assisted living, senior living, and skilled nursing who run out of funds during their stay in those care settings. Some will qualify for Medicaid funding…, and some will not.

If the resident does not quality for Medicaid, where will they go from your setting? How do we help?  Many times, if residents run out of funds and have no backup plan in effect, they can be evicted, which results in extremely traumatic situations.

Objectives:

• Identify ways to avoid an unsafe discharge because of financial issues
• Determine the best places to access funding sources – Medicaid, VA, private funds, etc.
• Identify ways to solve the Ombudsman or Adult Protective Services
• Understand the best places to access private funding for Residents
